 5 days per week (8.30am – 3.10pm)
28.85 hours per week, 38.6 weeks per year

Salary: Surrey Pay PS5 - £21,943 to £24,184 pro rata for 24.43 hours
Surrey Pay PS6 - £24,780 to £27,317 pro rata for 4.42 hours

St John’s is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and committed Early Years Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our happy school.  The successful candidate will be able to provide class support and cover classes during the teacher’s absence.

Applicants should have good knowledge of a stimulating primary curriculum, high expectations of children’s achievements and behaviour and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has a commitment to excellence and the maximising of academic and personal achievement of pupils
  • supports the aims and mission statement of this Church School
  • an understanding of the Early Years Framework and child development
  • strong literacy, numeracy and phonics skills
  • is an excellent role model

  • has experience of working in a classroom.

Cover Staff

We are keen to build up a bank of people who can provide cover when the school faces staff shortages due to sickness and training.  We are particularly keen to build up a pool of staff to cover our Breakfast Club, After School Club and during lunch breaks.

The hours are as follows:

  • Breakfast Club: 7.05 a.m. – 9.00 a.m.
  • Lunch: 12.15 p.m. – 1.30 p.m.
  • After School Club: 2.45 p.m. to 6.15p.m.

We offer a competitive salary with a full induction to ensure that all our staff, regardless of how many hours they work, are all given the same excellent training.
